I've only had my car for 2 weeks and I was wondering if it was ok to take my car through the automatic carwash? My last car had a similar antenna and I'm not sure if the brushes wacked it off or if someone stole it. lol.. My G8 is black and it needs to be washed a lot. I dont mind hand washing it but sometimes its just easier to pay someone to detail it.

Look for the ones that are touchless. They do not have brushes that come in contact with your vehicle at all. All they do is shoot high pressure water and do a good job of getting the dust off.

I tried those but they leave water spots even with the air dry.
I guess I'll have to wash it myself. |

If you want you can remove the mast before you wash, its threaded on the end, it's suggested that you cover the opening in which the mast threads into. I occassionly use a soft car wash and have'nt had any problems with the antenna. Personely I enjoy hand washing or use the quarter car wash.

I've never had any problems taking my G8 through the wash with the antenna on.
