I am waiting and wanting to see a true ram air system that uses the factory hood air vents. It should be soming out soon...I hope. I am going to start toying with some ideas similar to what I had on my 1996 Impala SS. Made a big difference.
Anyone have any ideas??

The second item costing about $420 is what I am referring to. I'll be doing some R&D here with the man that developed a very similar concept that this set-up was developed from.

BTW- I saw an example of a system for the G8 on e-bay if anyone wants to chime in regarding personal experiences if anyone has already bought that one. It's got an airbox that installs drivers side, open on top and the hood seals the box. Cold air is appareantly captured from under the bumper. Anyone??

Hey, maybe we can talk to these (http://www.mpd-inc.net/PontiacG6.htm) guys... they made one for the G6 that is functional, and maybe they can make one for the G8! What do you all think?

So I got a response from them, and basically they said they will only make functional hood scoops for two door vehicles... he said those are the only ones that really sell. So no go unless Pontiac releases a two door version of the G8... maybe the G8 ST is our ticket to a ram air hood!

Okay.... Somebody please tell me how the number of doors affects the intake on a hood??? I think GM is about to show these people that hood scoops on a 4-door sedan are going to sell.

Well DUUHHH. These folks might make a good product but have no business sense at all. So how many G-8 sales will go unfilled. How many 2 door models of the G-8 are out there? None, well duuuhhh I guess they are not considering that there are 3 different 4 door models out there, mostly GTs and perhaps the GXP, not to mention a lot of 6 cylinder types as well. Are these some former GM marketing types from Havard with their MBAs.

Yeah no crap!! Why would they make one for the G6 and not the G8, the G8 is the frickin sports car......... You know what else I want to see is an aftermarket hood with bigger air intakes or more defined. That is really the only thing I don't like about the car. They should of put something inbetween how it is now and how the Trans Am WS6 ram air was. Just to make it look a little bit meaner. If anyone knows of a hood like this out there already, please let me know.
