Do spare tires come with a G8GT? I found out that i did not have a spare tire and contacted the person who sold me the car and was told that it does not come with a spare. I recently spoke with the service dept and at first they said that it should have one and they would get me one and the very next day they said if i wanted one i would have to order it.

Thanks,
Sandra :)

I've learned the same thing about a G8 GT I'm buying and looking at the 2009 G8 manual online, it does seem to confirm that the GT was shipped with a inflator and can of sealer mounted in a styrofoam "box" attached in the spare tire well under the trunk floor. The G8 sedan came with a spare but it was not full size. No jack either in the GT or GXP. I don't know why you couldn't add one and it would fit in the spare tire well, but you'd then also have to buy the jack and lug wrench. Could be pretty costly.

Yeah, I'm looking into getting an actual spare (no donut) than to have a sidewall cut and be out of luck, the sealant won't fix that.

No spare in the G8GT. There is a complete aftermarket kit from a vendor who advertises on-line on this forum I believe in Illinois or Ohio, about $100 plus the tire obviously.

No the G8GT does not come with a Spare Tire. The reasoning for this is to not throw off the 50/50 weight distribution. At least that is what I have read and seen from reviews when the vehicle first came out. Not that it's entirely a big deal. Unless you are buying the vehicle used. The car comes with a 5 year emergency roadside assistance. So to me it's not a problem. Also the sealant in with the pump will seal the tire unless the damage is more than a 1/4 of an inch. At least that is what was told to me. I've actually had a piece of metal in one of my tires that when I pumped the tire back up it held air long enough to get me to the dealership. So I was good to go.

Though when it comes to changing out your tires make sure you shop around. Use TireRack and any other source you can find to get the best deal. I actually saved money by doing this. Shockingly the Dealership was the best deal on even better tires. It saved me at least $400 that I would have paid at any other place.

Hope that helps!
