My wife's G8-V6 is noisy as he!! when cold. Sounds like all pistons are slapping??? Still there when warm but not as bad. Only hear this when driving with windows up and not when revved in neutral. Can only slightly detect this when driver's window is down and moving. It is very objectional to me. I drive the car only on occasions when we both go out.
Dealer's tech and service writer do not hear it. I cannot understand an engine leaving the factory like this. Brakes pulsated from 180 km (111 miles) on and I was told to drive a few KM's which would clean of any rust. Complained about brakes again and rotors were turned at 929 KM's (578 miles).
I am a pissed off Canadian. No wonder GM is bankrupt and in the crapper. Finally my tax dollars are helping them to continue doing this as we are now all shareholders.

I would get a second opinion on this. If there is another dealer around, try them out. Nothing pisses me off more than a dealer that ignores customers.

Well what ever you do, DON'T go to Noonan Pontiac.... They were rude, unhelpful, and stupid. The car is not even a year old and has about 10K miles and its been to the dealer about 5-6 times for problems. But one time particular it made a loud noise going over bumps. I took it in and they said the whole strut needed to be replaced and that it would be almost a month to get the part because it comes from australia. But get this, they called another pontiac dealer about 20min away who had one in stock, but they refused to give it up. So a few weeks later strut is replaced and when I pull out of the dealer guess what sound I hear....the same one it was making. Turned right around and took it back in and now they say they don't know what it is. Next day they call and say they figured it out and that they would have this new part in a week. When I go to pick up the car this time the noise is gone...BUT now the car is stalling everytime I stop. So I pull over and pop the hood and the idiots didn't put the air filter and assembly back in, just hoses and crap hanging everywhere. Now when I take it back and pull in the guy see's me and rolls his eyes, like what now...As I tell him what they did he starts giving me the attitude. So that pushed me over the edge and I ended up emailing a guy named Scott Lawson, General Director of Customer & Relationship Services for GM and I basically said the same thing you just did....."Now wonder GM is Bankrupt". Haven't ever heard a response back yet.

Ive never had a problem with mine in the almost year and a half Ive had it till now. Its been in the shop for a week already just sitting there. Car went into battery saver mode twice so I took it in. Bad news? Alternator crapped. Even worse news? Only 5 alternators in the US. More bad news? None will give theirs up. And the worst news of the day? Mine is on back order from Australia!! This is not my dealership's fault but GM's!! I know there arent alot of these around but damn, 5 to cover the whole US?
