View Full Version : Whistling Noise Coming From Sunroof

I was wondering if anyone here has the same issue that I have had with my sunroof. When driving the car, typically at highway speeds, you can hear a hissing noise like air leaking in through the sunroof.
The dealer had told me that they had fixed it by making some adjustments to the sunroof, prior to me taking the car, but when I drove it on the highway, I quickly found out that they hadn't fixed it.
I am wondering if the dealer just needs to do some further tweaks of the sunroof, or is this something that will always be there? I don't think it should be since others I have driven didn't seem to make that noise, and my 2002 Monte Carlo doesn't make that noise either.
Thanks for your input!
Other than that, I love the car!

Mine does not produce any noise. I have a couple of suggestions.

1. Are you sure it's from the sunroof? If you close the shade cover does the sound get muffled?

2. Check the seals. Make sure there are no rips or cracks in the seal that could be letter air in.

3. Check for dirt. Dirt stuck to the seal could also let just a little air through. You can wipe down the seal by opening the sunroof in both directions.

As far as I can tell, it sure sounds like its coming from the sunroof.

When I do slide the shade closed, the sound does reduce, which to me points again to it being from the sunroof.

That's a good idea about the seals. I will check it out and see if that helps at all.

Thanks!
