View Full Version : Lack of G8's on the road.
TonyR0206 02-23-2009, 05:26 PM Has anyone else noticed the lack of G8's on the road near them? Speaking strictly from my vanatge point from the Southern Tier area of Upstate New York- I've only seen one other G8 on the road other than mine, and it was a V6. I'm a bit conflicted on how I feel about it though :4-dontknow:...I hope the sales are good on the G8 just for the fact that the General needs a hit, and has one on their hands with the G8. But on the other hand...I'm quite happy that I have a rare car that gets a lot of looks from passers by! Any thoughts?
Zonestar 02-23-2009, 06:01 PM I know you are addressing the NE area but the G8 is not seen that often in my neck of the woods either.
300 Addict 02-23-2009, 07:39 PM Same here in Ontario Canada! Lots of G6's, but not to many G8's.
ecoleshill 02-24-2009, 09:30 AM The G8 first came out here in Canada around July of last year. Last time I spoke with my dealer (a couple of months back) they sold 9 in the first couple of weeks and nothing since.
In the Milton area there are only two that I have seen. Mine and Clayman's.
XKWIZIT 02-25-2009, 05:13 AM We have 3 on the road here, including mine!
igotmymojoback 02-25-2009, 07:43 PM I have observed one other G8 here in the northern Va area. Not complaining though. Heads still turn when I'm driving it.
ecoleshill 03-03-2009, 09:52 AM I have to agree..... I like having a unique car on the road.
Same thing here in New Brunswick, Canada, but like you guys say thats OK, I like getting the looks especially from the women..............

dukeofpg 03-05-2009, 11:20 PM I live in Utah (Provo area). I have only seen 1 or 2 around and 1 of them is the local performance tuner. He specializes in Corvettes and says as soon as he gets the the transmission figured out, he will tune the G8.

Your right. I live in central NJ and we have plenty of cars here. I counted 4 other G8's in the past 4 months or so. All but one were V6's. My neighbor who happens to be a pontiac salesman and owns a white G8GT said the car came out at the wrong time, when gas prices were high. I still can't recall even seeing any ads either. However, I do like the idea of owning something no one else has seen before.
Chiste 06-25-2009, 09:10 AM since i bought my v6 G8 in late March I have only seen one other G8 on my way to work. Don't know what type but I saw it nevertheless. The G6s are literately everywhere. I'm happy I got rid of it bcuz it didnt feel special anymore >_<
maybe 10 yrs down the line G8s will be a prized car who knows. i wonder what the production # vs sales #s were for 2009. I looked it up for 2008 and they only sold about half they were produced so i wonder if they just took those 08s and called them 09s.

The recal was on just a little over 35,000 08/09 G8's. Since they have stopped making them I guess with only 35,000 out there across North America they will be far and few between. I would love to know the exact number though.
Up here in Canada, my dealer was telling me you can't find them any more. Most of the dealerships are sold out. If you want a new one in Canada it will have to be a V6 version, but slim picking. ALL GT's are sold.
Ditto here in central KY. I know of one other, my banker. The local Pontiac dealer claims he can't keep them in stock, new or used. They must be sold out in the sticks, because there are none in the local cities.

robtronics 10-26-2009, 06:42 PM I live in South central PA, and I only see one other white G8 Sedan regularly. I will say that were I work at Fort Meade MD, there are at least four GTs that also come to work there. A black one, dark red, liquid red and stryker blue.
