This post is for general information to those who have 09's

When they took out the Battery and Oil Life Atari style gauges they never placed that functionality back into the main computer. So the 2009's don't have the ability to track oil life %. You have to do it the old fashion way "count the clicks!".

Also the 6.5" LCD screen cuts off the song information text for XM. The CD mode has the ability to scroll the text on the screen, but in XM mode the text just gets truncated.

yeah i was wondering why i didn't have those atari gauges in the center dash with the 09 G8 GT fully loaded. Need to find something to do with that space...any ideas? I was thinking a stand alone gps or maybe fuel::air tracking computer.

I was thinking I might fix the location up to hold my HP iPAQ (which also acts as my GPS). That way I can get rid of the dumb looking window mounted holder I have. It ruins the look of the interior.

You can still get the oil life % in engineering mode on the DIC.

And at some point before 0% shouldn't it notify you without entering engineering mode that it is time to change oil? If it isn't smart enough to tell you then it isn't a very smart OLM.
