Hello Everyone-
Former moderately modded 2003 Marauder owner here checking in. Just wanted to let you guys know about a great event to put on your calenders.
Southern Super Heavyweight Shootout #8 w w w sshs8.com
As the title indicates, it will be Saturday November 8th, 2008 this year.
Location- Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA 70 miles north of Atlanta up Rte. 85........
Details- Pre-register and check out the rules/reg's. at the sshs8 website. Many bracket options available, but spots are limited so sign up early.
Competition- This is the great thing about this event....... RWD/AWD only.....(No FWD Allowed) Cars must weigh 4,000+ lbs including driver.
In years past we have seen everything from AMG Benzes, the Hemi boyz, to fast Caddy's and GTO's and some hotrod Lincolns.... May even see an Impala SS, or a Marauder:D Considering this event is being put on by GASSIT (Georgia Super Sport Impala Team) and the Atlanta Marauder Group, you can count on it!
There will be cars running in the the 9's and 10's in the big dog class, but beleive me competition is fierce in every bracket.
Other Attractions- Test ~n~ Tune Friday nite November 7th.
-Outlet shopping malls and hotels are right around the corner.
-Good selection of dining options.
This event has grown every year since its inception and we think this year will be the best ever. Especially now that the G8 GT (and maybe the GXP by November) are on the street. November is great horsepower making weather down here in GA, so mark your calenders, and pre-register at the sshs8 website.

PS- I drove a G8 GT at Carl Black in Kennesaw, GA a few weeks back. Lots to like! And for a change the dealership experience was not bad. The $5,000 dealer markup has got to go though.:shakehead:
