I was just wondering what everyone thinks is going to be the best exhaust for the G8. This is the first things that I want to do. I have heard a lot of different things and I just want to know some opinions on what is going to be the best and sound the best.

Zoomers and Magnaflow are some of my favorites. The problem with the G8 being that it is a new model you do not want an universal fit and it will take time for them to do a custom fit to get the best sound and performance in one design. It will happen but not tomorrow.

Borla exhaust systems are good but expensive. They currently do not have one design for the G8.

Should be good seller. From I what I have read about the G8; an exhaust upgrade system should be the first upgrade.

I just got my magnaflow system a week ago and it sounds pretty good... at idle its not as loud as i thought it would be but under load it roars pretty good and it only took about an hour and a half to install with just a jack and jackstands in the driveway by myself

The JBA System will sound good as their GTO system sounded Great and I know their mustang stuff is bad a%%. I checked their website and it looks like some parts are already listed.

Did you use the exhaust kit listed for the V8 version? I have the V6 G8 and heard that they are interchangable? Any advice?

Is it possible to modify my Base G8, the 6 cyln, to give the exhaust a deeper and more throaty sound? Or is this just all about the big 6.0 engine? Tks in advance!!!!!!

Nothing sound as a good as a V8. Check out several of the exhaust system manufactures for recommendations. Magnaflows and Zoomers are very popular.

I for one cant wait until borla finishes their R&D for the g8. im on their list of people to inform when it becomes available, i just hope i dont have to wait too long. as an audi tech i see milltek all the time. they dont have anything for pontiacs not even the older muscle cars. i hope the g8 inspires them to create a cat back, becuase its by far the best sound for the v8 audis, maybe second to borla, but its a close call.

Found this exhaust system while looking for other Aussie mods. Not sure if it will fit the G8 but looks pretty cool. You can get great sound when you want or you can tome it back with a remote.

I found this stuff by googling Holden Commodore VE (Australian G8).

Not sure this stuff will exactly fit the G8 but might be worth a try.

Magnaflow is what we get alot of people asking for, we have sold alot of them. Nobody has had any complaints on them so it must be a pretty good choice.

The systems I've been looking at are Kooks and SLP. They both have headers back systems. A buddy of mine has the SLP loudmouth system on his 05 GTO and it is INSANE!! Has anyone heard how these sound on a G8 GT??

I think that right now Magnaflow offers the best system for your money.

Just purchased an 09' GXP and currently looking for a (dry) intake with a cat back w/ an "x" pipe exhaust system. I've been scoping CORSA for sound and performance. Now I know flowmaster and magnaflow make a complete system for a cheaper price. Would there be any type of compromise for going cheaper for sound and performance what do you think?

Corsa is the way to go, bar none especially with the GXP. The zero drone is what you are striving for as well as having that throaty sound when taking off or gunning it. But, when you are at cruising speeds you here no drone inside the car, drone blows! Check out Livernois Motorsports videos on youtube, they have the corsa exhaust on their GXP and it sounds amazing.

I found this system from this website for UNDER $600! it retails all over the 'net for $801.42
Has anyone installed this? I'm looking for a slight rumble at idle, a deep growl at acceleration, and no hiway drone. is this the right system?

I had a Corsa cat back system installed on my GXP and am very happy with it. Sounds great under acceleration, but at steady state throttle settings it is as quiet inside as stock.

Quick summery - quiet when you want it and very V8 sounding when you want it.

I did a complete delete on my 09 G8 GT with an xpipe going into 5" double walled oval tips and it sounds great.

Monday I'm having all 3 resinators removed, I want the car to sound like a V8 but don't want it too loud (like a GT Mustang). I'll report on this next Monday.
thanx, Dave

For me I like Borla because it sound loud opposite to Magnaflow, I have a Borla on mine and I had the chabce to hear a Magnaflow. But the question is what do you prefer. Borla sound like oldie GM in 70'

Are the performance numbers any different for any of the cat-back systems that you guys have been talking about. I want something that is reasonably loud, but the power and performance is the most important thing for me.

I just went thru the exhaust thing and found out the best deal is to have your rear mufflers remove, you'll love the sound you get not too loud just right and cheap.

From all that I have read online and on other forums, it seems that a catback, or just removing the stock mufflers and replacing with an axleback doesn't prove to be a big HP gain. From what I have read it seems to make the cars sound much better (except for the drone), but the power gains aren't that great. I have also read that a full length system like kooks or american racing headers produces much more HP and can be used with the stock mufflers for lots of power and a more aggressive but not too loud sound. Anyone hearing the same thing?? Also anyone know the best place to pick up one of these systems??

What have you guys heard about a kooks full system?
