My 2009 manual has an entire section on how to setup the a personal cell phone using Bluetooth. However, when I follow the instructions the car and say "Bluetooth" the car says "Thank you. Good buy".

Surfing around the web I found many blogs stating bluetooth was included and then removed from the 2009's. Does anybody know if the 2009's have it or not? If they do has anybody been successful setting up a personal cell to the VOICE option via a bluetooth link?

Did you ever get your Bluetooth working?

I have been talking with my dealer. I am trying to figure out if it's coming out on the later 09's is it possible to add it to the earlier 09's. I would think it's just attach the Bluetooth module and upgrade the software in the car, but who knows. :4-dontknow:

From what I gather it is a mid-season running change. Whether or not any components are easily retrofitted is another question. On a positive note, for OnStar equipped vehicles operating within verizon woreless network (lower 48 provinces only maybe) you can add your car's phone as an additional line to your regular wireless, even forward all calls from handset to handsfree on board system. Little extra work but it's one way to go.

Unfortunately up here in Canada the link is with Bell and my phone is Rogers. That and that's a very expensive way to operate a simple link with the car.

I am talking with the dealer regarding this upgrade. I will post something if I ever get an answer.

I believe that Pontiac was going to add this to the mid year models. You may have been equipped with the major equipment, but may be missing some programming or something of that nature. I can not remember where I heard this, but it was a comparison of the 08 and 09 models.

:thk:I to am trying to set it up, and like you could not seem to get it to work. All mine says when i say "Bluetooth" is "there are no voice tags with that name" something to that effect anyways. I have an 09 G8 and it does have a listing in the manual for setting up Bluetooth.....

Bt equipped 09's will have it and MY 2009.5 indicated somewhere on the window sticker. If not listed it probably is not there. And, sad to say, there is no retrofit or upgrade.

Check your window sticker under INTERIOR SECTION if it says Bluetooth you got it if not, no.

I still have my window sticker. I will have to check that out.

When did you purchase yours? They are suppose to start having the bluetooth option about mid year (09).

Any positive bluetooth updates for 2009 G8's?

My '09 GXP has it, but my phone is not Bluetooth. I would like to get a compatible phone but the website does not list G8 phones. Some only give you basic capability while others let you do practically everything.

Bought my GXP two weeks ago... it is listed as a 2009.5 model and BT is listed as an option on the window sticker. I have been able to use my AT&T Fuze a couple of times but on one occasion it disconnected in the middle of a call and reverted to the handset. It registers, connects and can be used. I'll have to use it a bit more to say it works well tho...

It sounds like GM have updated the system. Does anybody know if we can get the OnStar system upgraded with the new bluetooth feature?
