To all new G8 owners out there.
If you have never owned a car with the front end as low as the G8.
Be very careful around curbs.
I have been careful but still have bumped a few curbs and scraped the paint off the bottom. (Damn)
I need some touch up paint now.

Now days, that is a problem with a lot of sport sedans/coups. Everything is getting lower.

thank god i used to drive a first edition pt cruiser we had on coil-overs with 4 inches of clearance in the front...shouldn't be a problem for me...good heads up tho...watch backing your car out of driveways...you often dont think about your front end in reverse but if you dont come down at an angle that **** will mess your nose up

I almost did exactly the same thing. When I first picked it up and took my wife out for dinner we got out of the car and my wife pointed out the same thing. I was cm's away from hitting the curb. YIKES!! and it was not even a day old yet. Good thing I missed it.

The G8 is a lot wider and a little longer than my old GrandAm, so it's going to take some time getting use to parking it.

Well I for one can tell you that is a big problem as well. I have to drive my car at an angle every time I park it in my driveway or when I leave as well. Once you get used to doing that it's not that big of a deal. Also be careful when pulling in where there is a curb in front of you when parking. I've tagged the front end of mine once. Sure didn't make my day. That is part of the reason why I back in my G8 GT when parking alot of places.

I am getting into the exact same habbit. Backing my G8 into parking spots or finding one I can pull the car through.

Guess after driving my GTO for so long it was not a problem with this car seams to sit higher in the front also seams that I had more problems with driveways in my Grand Prix maybe it's just what your used to driving. :4-dontknow:

Had to watch it with the Bonneville too, so we were used to it. One tip is to give yourself wide berth on drives with any grade at all and always enter and exit at an angle to releave the slope a bit and save the low effects of the Pontiac. Used to driving a Bonneville and Suburban, so the size didn't shock us at all. But, we aren't letting the kids drive the G8!! Too much danger of curb damage.

Yoo... thats one way to really mess your day, Iv'e tapped mine twice fortunatly I've just scraped the underside of the facia. Know I just stop short, I look at where the rear is in relation to the parking stripe, its a trial an error thing seems to work though. I was thinking of one of thoses after mrkt. back-up sensors and mounting to the inside the grill... its a thought.

That and forget about buying ramps low enough to change the oil....had to make my own and they work good. About 12 to 15.00 in lumber (2 x 10 to be exact) and about 30 minutes in time (a little less if you get them to cut the lumber to length).
